Jude Lozon: Vocals

The response to Jude’s first singing solo at 8 years old was tremendously positive. She loved the experience and was “hooked” from that moment on. At that young age, she learned to read music and began playing trumpet. After picking up the french and baritone horns, she eventually abandoned the instruments to concentrate on her singing. “You can’t sing and play the trumpet at the same time.” The roots of her performing were in church. Fortunate to have a wonderful public school music program, she went on to perfect light opera, classical, musical theatre, and pop vocal styles. As a young adult, she expanded her singing styles to include contemporary rock. As a reflection of her eclectic musical taste, she added blues, jazz, country, rhythm & blues, and soul to her repertoire. A San Francisco Bay Area native, Jude’s singing has allowed her to tour throughout the Western United States. Jude was the front person for the Stanford-based Rock and Roll/R&B band DEAD TONGUES for several years. With acting interest and talent, she has acted in local community theatre performing both dramas and musicals. In college, her major was drama with a minor in music.
Jude currently fronts her own exceptional band billed as JUDE LOZON and SCRUMPTIOUS. Her powerful voice can be enjoyed as she renders dynamic versions of contemporary and old-school rock, blues, R&B, jazz, soul, and disco selections…and more…for which she has a passion.

Jude sings her heart out for you. The audience shares in the love.

Dennis Dove: Drums, Vocals

There are not enough words to describe this extremely versatile and talented drummer/vocalist. Dennis’ musical journey started at the age of 10 when he began playing and singing in church. Later, as a high school student in Lancaster, CA, he further honed his talents as a member of a variety of rock and soul bands. In 1978, Dennis picked up his childhood roots and relocated to San Jose along with his guitarist friend, Oliver Harris. With Dennis on drums and vocals along with Oliver on guitar and vocals, their band, The Tear Magnets, experienced considerable success and a critically-acclaimed CD. Since that time, Dennis has continued to entertain audiences with his invaluable musical and personal spirit. He is a mainstay of the Bay Area music scene and has contributed his multifaceted talents playing with numerous well-renowned groups and musicians, such as: Ike and the Coldbloods, Velvet Plum, Pearl Alley, Flea Amigos, Lara Price, Kay Bohler, J.C.Smith, Franky Ramos, Will Roc, Bill C. Ireton, Red Archibald, John Garcia, Maria Muldaur, Archie Lee Hooker, John Lee Hooker, Sr. and many more. In addition to being the backbone of Jude Lozon and Scrumptious, Dennis leads his own rhythm and blues band, The Dennis Dove Band (formerly RB Xpress). Dennis' band had the privilege of playing at the 2007 San Jose Jazz Festival on the Blues Stage. Dennis can also be found gathering professional musicians together at weekly Blues jams at JJ’s Blues in San Jose and Fog Bank in Capitola, among other venues. His efforts to promote live music in the Bay Area are noteworthy.

Paul Nemeth: Bass

As the child of two music teachers, Paul started his musical experimentation at a young age playing piano, trumpet, and guitar before finally picking up the bass at age 16. A 1994 graduate of University of Denver, Paul studied Commercial Music under the tutelage of Lou Fischer (Woody Herman, Charlie Byrd) and John Arnesen (Colorado Symphony Orchestra, Central City Opera). Relocating to the San Francisco Bay Area in 1995, he continued bass lessons with Kai Eckhardt (John McLaughlin, Billy Cobham). Paul has worked with singer/songwriter Dana Hubbard and opened for Joe Louis Walker and Charlie Musselwhite. He has performed and recorded with Terry Hiatt, appearing at the Monterey Blues Festival. Paul was also a part of Rene Solis and NiteCry showcases backing up Ron Thompson, Sammy Varela, Chris Cain, and Kevin Russell. In addition, Paul has played with John Chrisley, Archie Lee Hooker, the Penguin Jazz Quartet, and a host of others. Since 2000, Paul has been the house bassist for the Church of the Highlands Orchestra: current Highlands rhythm section includes drummer Curt Moore (Soul Sauce) and guitarist Steve Erquiaga (Windham Hill recording artist, Les McCann, Andy Narell). Continuing the teaching legacy, Paul gives guitar and bass lessons through an associated Conservatory program.
Paul’s talents don’t stop there. He is a published fiction writer. His short story, "Tom Skinner", appears in the anthology, "Don’t Turn the Lights On" (Stone Garden Press). Paul's novel, "Cataclysm Children", has been officially scheduled for release in November 2009 by Stonegarden publishing.
